Province: Teruel
Teruel is a province of central Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Aragon.
It is bordered by the provinces of Tarragona, Castellón, Valencia (including its exclave Rincón de Ademuz), Cuenca, Guadalajara, and Zaragoza. The climate is one of the hardest in Europe for it's dryness, that produces a thermal excursion up to twenty degrees in few hours during certain periods of the year.
It's economy is based principally on cereals crops and on tourism, altough the ham sector is very important.
In the Teruel province we reccomand you to see, Alcañiz and the caves of Molinos, the mines, Albarracín and his mountains, the dinosaur itinerary and the itinerary of ham tasting.
The capital of the region is Teruel, with a continental mediterrean mountain climate. In summer the temperature is mild and in the winter cold, with the lowest temperatures can occasionally drop to -10°. The downpour season is at the end of spring.
Teruel is well known for it's delicious ham and for it's mudejar art, wich is the muslims aesthetics influence in the Christian art that is considered by UNESCO as humanity's heritage. In the beginning the most important industry in town was the preparation of ceramics.
